Pop-up Book
BOOK ONE - Yearning for the Sky 🌌
This Book aims to combine my personal experience with an understanding of sky.
The first page I created was to showcase the journey to Mogao Caves in Dunhuang, China. At that time, I was too young; instead of appreciating the cave paintings inside, I focus more on hanging around with my firends.
The second page is traditional Chinese stories and cartoons: Chang'e Flying to the Moon (嫦娥奔月 ), The Nine-Coloured Deer (九色鹿 ). The first one can be considered a story that every Chinese person must have heard of, and the second one was created based on the Mogao Cave.
The third page portrays the scene of people continuously exploring the universe, demonstrating that our curiosity about a broader world never ends.

BOOK TWO - Foodie🍽️
I’m a big foodie and really love various Chinese food, so I made a food collection. The side of the book has two Chinese characters "干饭," written in calligraphy, which is a popular phrase means "Let's eat." While the book is flipped to the end, this side becomes an extension of the last page. This idea was inspired by a traditional Chinese bookbinding: "龙鳞装书" and was shocked by the format.
